Vassilis Manikas  

I was born in Larissa in 1979. I was involved with painting, but I chose photography. During 2008-2013 I attended photography seminars by Petros Kotzampsis, in Komotini. I was a founding member of the ¨Photographic Group of Komotini¨ and member of ¨Center of Creative Photography of Thrace¨ during 2011-2014. I have attended numerous seminars on the technique and the art of photography. I have participated in numerous collective exhibitions of photography. My photos have been published in the photography book ¨Portraits of the City¨, in the cultural magazine of Thessaloniki ¨Avlaia¨, and in the greek magazine ¨ΦΩΤΟγράφος¨. In 2010, I worked with the band Ensemble AИASTROPHOS the project ¨ 3 Pictures for flute and violin¨, under which I presented photos with music, especially for those, of Tania Sikelianos, composer of classical music. The project was presented in 2010 in Amsterdam and 2011 in Athens. Since 2014 I live in Larissa.
Γεννήθηκα στη Λάρισα το 1979. Ασχολήθηκα με την ζωγραφική, αλλά με κέρδισε η φωτογραφία. Την περίοδο 2008-2013 παρακολούθησα στην Κομοτηνή σεμινάρια φωτογραφίας του Πέτρου Κοτζαμπάση. Υπήρξα ιδρυτικό μέλος της Φωτογραφικής Ομάδας Κομοτηνής καθώς και μέλος του Κέντρου Δημιουργικής Φωτογραφίας Θράκης (ΚΕ.ΔΗ.ΦΩΤ.) την περίοδο 2011-2014. Έχω παρακολουθήσει επίσης πλήθος σεμιναρίων πάνω στην τεχνική και στην τέχνη της φωτογραφίας. Έχω συμμετάσχει σε πλήθος συλλογικών εκθέσεων, ενώ φωτογραφίες μου έχουν δημοσιευτεί στο φωτογραφικό βιβλίο ¨Πορτραίτα της Πόλης¨, στο πολιτιστικό περιοδικό της Θεσσαλονίκης ¨Αυλαία¨, καθώς και στο περιοδικό ¨ΦΩΤΟγράφος¨. Το 2010 συνεργάστηκα με το μουσικό σχήμα Ensemble AИASTROPHOS στο project ¨3 Pictures for flute and violin¨, όπου παρουσιάστηκαν φωτογραφίες μου, ¨επενδυμένες¨ από μουσική της Τάνιας Σικελιανού, συνθέτη κλασικής μουσικής. Το project παρουσιάστηκε το 2010 στο Άμστερνταμ και το 2011 στην Αθήνα. Από το 2014 ζω στην Λάρισα.
